Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for implementing and sustaining continuous improvement and Six Sigma efforts, implementing lean manufacturing techniques, leading lean manufacturing and kaizen project teams, training others on the importance and techniques of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, statistical problem solving, being instrumental in developing departmental goals for reducing downtime and scrap and increasing through-put cost savings, supporting new product launches by implementing lean in the beginning of the process development. Ensure that a standard methodology will be used to deploy LSS Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) principles, training, coaching, and executive support and review progress on all implantation of the concepts.

Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer provides leadership to create a customer-focused culture within the business, and aids in fostering a Lean culture to drive growth through simplification. Duties include:
• Participate in large complex projects related to improving the customer experience. Responsible for quickly identifying and scoping projects to focus delivery on highest-impact activities and using Lean, Six Sigma and other methods to drive improvements in those areas. Where required, the Manufacturing Engineer interfaces with DI's Information Technology (IT) teams to standardize processes and deliver sustainable improvements.
• Stretch beyond project responsibilities to assist in resolving critical business situations.
• Act as a change agent to aid in the creation of a "Customer First" culture. Provide training across the organization on various quality concepts.
• Research and remain current in new quality tools, techniques and best practices.

• Bachelor's Degree in business or related field (including the military) and 3+ years experience is required. In the absence of meeting these requirements, a minimum of 7 years equivalent experience in leading process improvement required.

• Must be trained and/or certified in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma. Complete Lean Leader certification.

• Strong coaching, mentoring, and teaching skills a must. Demonstrated team leadership and project management skills. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently. Willing to take risks and lead change.

• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong facilitation, analytical, and problem solving skills are necessary.

• Must be US Citizen or green card holder.
