Principal Test Design Engineer Posted Feb 09
Augmentation, Inc., Nashua, NH

Position Description:

Candidate will be a key member of the test design manufacturing engineering team responsible for the test engineering support of IR/EO (Infra-Red/Electro-Optic) test equipment in a large scale final assembly production environment. Duties include developing test strategies, test documentation/procedures, and product testing support. Major tasks will be to support the ongoing production and to work through test stand and/or test procedure issues. Tasks will also be to develop test stations to support the construction, alignment, calibration, and testing of a multi-axis IR/EO Gimbal Head or optical bench systems.

A candidate must have a strong electrical background with an ability to quickly learn the optical side of the test engineering environment. Interest is in an individual with experience in a final assembly test environment including experience in in-process testing, temperature testing, and final acceptance test procedure testing. Tasks will include testing of a multi-axis IR/EO Gimbal Head. The testing is a mix of electrical testing along with intricate optical alignment (which can be learned on the job at BAE SYSTEMS if individual has minimal background in optical alignment). Must be a quick learner to be able to pick up (or have previous knowledge of) IR and laser radiometry including analysis of detector / sensor systems, their alignment and calibration.
